GrabFood Update: How Much can you earn per day or month?

I know many of you are curious about the earning of a GrabFood delivery person. I also wish to be able to give you specific numbers, but it's not possible.

You can never know how much you're going to earn as the are MANY factors. I'll list some of them down.

1) Obviously would be the number of orders you received. (Some days are just so quiet)
2) The distance between the store/restaurant (NOT from your current location!) and the customer's address.

3) Incentives! (This would make a huge differences!)
4) Mode of delivery (Walker, PMD, Bike...etc)
5) Weather. (You can expect much more orders on rainy days, but do also note that you probably find it hard to deliver in some extreme weathers)

I've made some screenshots of some of my recent earnings, so you can get a feel of how much you can expect to earn.

Also, I would like to include that, if you happened to have cancelled orders or that the merchant is not open when you arrived there, GrabFood will compensate you $2.50 for the effort.

Well, that's all for now.

More GrabFood Walker Update! Acceptance Rate (AR)

I've updated my previous post and stated that on some slow days, I do get orders that are far away, like 2.20-2.30km from the restaurant to the recipient.

It's like a "death sentence" for my legs. I kenna before a 2.24km walk ALL UPHILL and under the hot sun some more!! I really ... ...

You may be thinking: But you can choose to ignore and not accept the order.

Of course I can.

BUT! There is the system of Acceptance Rate (AR) whereby if you ignore (and not accept an order given), it drops pretty fast! And AR is important when it comes to Quest incentives! You need that 80% or above AR to qualify for the incentives!

Quest AR and Overall AR

There are actually 2 types of AR. It's kinda confusing but I'll try my best to explain them.

1) The Overall AR

The overall AR is:

Number of completed orders/total number of orders sent to you x 100!

So if you were sent a total of 10 orders and you missed 2 of them, you'll end up with 8/10 x 100 = 80%.

Overall AR will only get reset every Monday of the week.

2) The Quest AR

Quest AR are tied to the Quests.

Say you have a 83% Overall AR by the end of Friday, however your Quest AR (for the Weekend Quest) can be 0%! Because Quest AR is tied to the Quest only and only takes into account the orders (completed and missed) during the Quest period.

I think this is fair because one can have bad Overall AR before the start of a quest and can hardly reach the 80% requirement after many orders. So by separating Overall and Quest AR, those with bad Overall AR can still qualify for the Quests if they work hard enough during the period.

I did a quick Math..

Weekday Quest :

If you just want to get the 15 trips incentive of $20 without having to make any extra trips, you can miss up to a maximum of 3 orders.

15/18 x 100 = 83.33%

If you want to get the 25 trips incentive of $35 without having to make any extra trips, you can miss up to a maximum of 6 orders.

25/31 x 100 = 80.64%

Weekend Quest :

If you just want to get the 8 trips incentive of $10 without having to make any extra trips, you can miss up to a maximum of 2 orders.

8/10 x 100 = 80%

If you want to get the 15 trips incentive of $25 without having to make any extra trips, you can miss up to a maximum of 3 orders.

15/18 x 100 = 83.33%

So yeah, can't really miss much orders if you want that Quest incentive!

WMG Parcel Walker: New payment scheme?

I've mentioned previously that I think Parcel Walker probably have a new payment system but I've to wait and see if my guess is correct.

Well, I've to say this upfront, that this is my own GUESSWORK and ASSUMPTION. So do not come blaming me if it's not the case for you. You can however, let me know that I'm wrong and I can edit the information accordingly so as to not mislead others.

Well, I've realised during April this year, that perhaps they're not paying per parcel anymore, but they're actually paying per trip. Which means, no matter how many parcels you've to deliver per trip (per day), you'll get the same amount.

I derive to this conclusion by checking through my previous 3 payment (May, June and July).

Here is the breakdown of my working days for June and July.

I've jobs for 9 days for both month, hence I got SG$72 for both month. From this, we can calculate that the pay per trip (day) is SG$8! Which is not bad at all!

Another thing, you probably noticed that I've cancelled out July 21st on the list. I don't actually have a delivery job on that day, but I did a re-delivery the next day as per the recipient request. They've recorded the re-delivery under the 21st but I wasn't paid for it. So I guess I can assume they no longer pay for re-delivery, which actually seems fair UNLESS they are cramping many parcels in a day.

To be honest, I'm fine with their new system as I'm being paid more. However, I hope they don't cramp too many parcels in a day.

Once again, these are just my assumptions and observations!

Some of the Weird Orders and Trivia of Food Delivery (GrabFood)

This is just a short and quick update. It's about GrabFood again, since I plan to hit the minimum for the Quests for both Weekdays and Weekends, if possible.

Anyway, a quick breakdown.

Weekday Quest

You need to hit a minimum of 15 trips (over 5 days, Mon-Fri) to qualify. 15 trips will earn you a $20 bonus and 25 trips will earn you $35 bonus.

I've already mentioned about the Weekend Quest in my previous post, but I'm going to include them here still.

Weekend Quest

You need a minimum of 8 trips to qualify. 8 Trips gives you $10 bonus and 15 trips gives you $25 bonus.

I'm also aiming for the Zone Boost, and will try to hit the minimum qualifying of 40 gems (2 trips for my Zone). So I choose the timeslots which will earn me both!

Anyway, I'm doing a lot more GrabFood orders than I initially planned to. And then I came across some really interesting orders and "trends".

1) If you're near McDonald's or live near one ...
I actually live quite near to a McDonald's and then there is one day that I've gotten almost all of my orders from them! It's 5/5 orders from McDonald's at the time of this capture! It's no wonder that GrabFood recommend that you head to the nearest McDonald's if you're not receiving much orders!

2) Remove everything eaters!

These were from 3 different eaters/orders. It seems like they've similar taste! They just want the bun and meat, with nothing else!

McChicken without the McChicken Sauce... hmm...

Some people really just want Cheese and Burger (Bun) ...

3) Tuesday is the Black Tuesday!

Tuesday seems to be the slowest day. I only received 2 orders after waiting for 5 hours! I nearly miss my Zone Boost because there is almost no orders during the peak timeslots.

I happen to meet another man doing GrabFood delivery too and he also commented that Tuesday is his worst day. He had waited more 2 hours without any orders!

But you can expect most weekdays except Monday to be quite slow.

Anyway, a quick update on The 3 Months Tummy-Flattening Challenge, I'm actually putting it on-hold. I really have not much energy and "muscle-power" to do those exercises daily after walking for at least 4-5km delivery food! Since I started taking GrabFood more seriously, there was only 2 days which I did exercise for the challenge! I did only one - leg lift.

But I'll update at the end of 3 months if I've cut down some belly fats or did I get fitter from being a GrabFood walker.

GrabFood Update: I paid off my $50 debt after completing weekend Quest and Zone Boost!

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm not a very hardworking person, so I didn't do much delivery per day.

However, I was attracted to their incentives (Quest and Zone Boost) and I decided to try and achieve them for the first time. Also, I know that if I complete my Weekend Quest of 8 trips, I'd most probably paid off my $50 debt!

I started with -$25.98 in my account and 2 trips (2 trips = 2 gems). These were from the midnight deliveries I did on Friday.

So my goal was to do another 6 trips to qualify for the 8 gems $10.00 bonus. From my experience, I can get a minimum of $4.50/trip, which means after 6 trips, I'll most likely clear my debts!

I didn't really chiong like mad. I completed 2 orders(trips) after I had breakfast with my family. This is the peak period of 11:00-14:59 and I earned 20 gems per order. So that means I already qualify for Zone Boost as I hit the minimum of 40 gems.

And then I got home and took a nap ... after which I woke up at the next peak hours, 17:00-20:59. I did 4 orders (trips) and I earned another 80 gems. After these 4 orders(trips), I finally break the negative and hit my 8 (trip) to qualify for the $10 bonus!

(note: 2 of 8 trips are already counted in the -$25.98)

I earned a total of $38.63 from 8 trips and after clearing the -$25.98... I've a miserable $3.05 in my account, but that is excluding the $10 Quest bonus and $6 (120 gems x $0.05/gem) from my Zone Boost.

So, if you work during peak hours, you can easily earn $50 in one weekend. But of course if you're a chiong-ster and go for the 15 trips Quest bonus ($25), you can potentially earn $70-80!

But also note that it comes with another bonus:

Aching legs and back!

My 5 days experience as a GrabFood walker.

I'd want to include this in my 3 months Tummy-Flattening Challenge, because I've joined GrabFood as a walker. So now I'm walking around MUCH more (Parcel Walker + GrabFood)

What is it like to work as a walker for GrabFood?

From my 5 days experience with them, I came to a few conclusions:

1) You need to be quite fit to earn as a walker or even cyclist.
2) You must learn to use map application! (unless you know your area super well)
3) Meticulous when collecting the food.

At first I thought it won't be too difficult, as I've experience with Parcel Walker. But I was soo wrong!

It's MUCH MORE tiring than Parcel Walker, because now, I've to go "2 ways".

1) Collect food from restaurant
2) Sent to the person who ordered
3) There is a 60 minutes time limit once food is collected.

Distance from restaurant to recipient can be about 1-2km. (Update: I've received orders that are 2.2+km! Walk till my legs ...) And you must delivery within 60 minutes after food is picked up!

Of course, they usually won't make you walk very far but well, you must factor in the time you need to find the place. I'm on 3G and sometimes the map is so slow to load and update my location! I just get constant "Rerouting..."

So after my first trip, I decided to use my old bicycle to cut down some time and save some energy. But I was wrong again!

There are many constructions going around my area, so some roads are blocked and there are many uphills! I've a hard time going up hill and my thighs are aching a lot from that! Honestly, it still goes down to one thing - fitness!

However, to be fair, I did cut down a lot of time and I did get to rest my legs when I was going downhill! But if you ask me if its less tiring on bicycle, I'll say NO. At least it's not the case for me.

How much did I earn?

Firstly, I must say that I started with -$50 in my account as I've to pay $50 deposit for the bags and shirts. I guess most of the walkers started with that and we work to pay off our debts... sadly.

Update: With effect from 31 October 2019, GrabFood Delivery-Partner applicants will have to purchase the GrabFood gear package in order to be activated as a GrabFood Delivery-Partner.

To be very honest, I'm a lazy person, so I wasn't turning on my app (being available for receiving orders) a lot. Let's just say, I turn it on in the evening (after 15:30) and waited at home for orders till 01:00-02:00. (When there is no job, I can do whatever I want)

For my first day, I received no job at all. And then on the 2nd day, I received 1 order when I was in my father's car, so I didn't accept it. (Oh by the way, remember to off the app when you're not ready to deliver! Because missing jobs can cause your Acceptance Rate (AR) to drop! A 80% AR is needed to get qualified for Quest, which give Gems. Gems can be converted to cash.)

On the 3rd day, I did 1 job, which paid me $4.50. I missed 1 order because I once again, forget to turn the app off. So my AR dropped  to 50%. -_-"

The 4th day, I did 2 jobs (one was at midnight) and one during dinner time, and earned $9.92.

On the 5th day, I did 2 jobs too (both after midnight) and earned $9.60 plus 2 gems. (I decided to try for the Quest which I must hit at least 8 trips)

Now that I decided to join the Quest (if my AR stays over 80%), I can get extra cash from gems and if I hit 8 gems (which is 8 orders) within the weekend, I can get $10 bonus and $25 if I hit 15 gems. (Btw, I think 15 trips is out of the question for me)

There is also the Zone Boost whereby you can get $0.05 for every gem your earn if you hit a minimum of 40 gems during the peak hours (11:00-14:59 and 17:00-20:59). 40 gems is quite easy to hit because these are the peak hours

Grab has removed the Zone Boost in most area for walkers starting 7th October 2019. Walkers now only enjoy Zone Boost in the Downtown area.

I belongs to the Central zone which can earn me 20 gems a trip during peak hours like Lunch and Dinner, on weekdays. I think I can hit the requirement quite easily if I work just a little harder. But of course that also depends if I was given any orders.

There is much for me to learn about their Quests and Zone Boost, but I'm confident that if I do complete either one, I can easily payoff the $50 debt!
