Packaging and Accessories

This earphone cost me SG$14 (including shipment) from Taobao. There seems to be a few "variations" of this model, when I did some research online. Some comes with a nicer box, some with a clip, some with slightly different button design... but mine came in a very simple box, a pouch and 2 sets of extra eartips.

Built and Cable

The earphone metal casing feels rather solid, although the TPE cable feels a little on the thinner, flimsy side. The cable is also very stiff and tends to retain bends, curls and tangles. The stiff cable made it a little difficult for it to be coiled up and it doesn't stay too obediently in protective cases.

Fit/Comfort and Noise Isolation

The fit of the earphone is horrible, at least for me. I have a hard time keeping it in my ears. They just keep slipping out. The medium size eartips seems to work better but still couldn't keep them in for long. In the end, I use foam earbuds and they work wonders.

I love the volume of the Fokoos M5. It's very loud, much louder than any of my previous earphones and that somehow help with noise isolation.

Pros

- Volume (much louder than most earphones I own)
- Microphone and remote (works well with iPhone)
- Metal casing
- Design (it looks somewhat cool)
- Accessories (Comes with a pouch and 2 sets of extra eartips)
- Price
- Mids (Vocals are more forward but quitw an enjoyment)
- Bass (have good punch and is quite fun at reasonable volume)

Cons

- Bad fit, doesn't stay in ear
- Bad isolation due to bad fit(can be solve with foam or better earbuds)
- Tangles easily
- Stiff cable that retains bends and curls

Overall score: 3/5 Microphone: 3/5
